Summer Sale 2026 Haul

Here are all the games I bought during this years summer sale and my thought process in choosing them.

GAMING

Remember how I said I'm not the best at survival games? Well, I am going to dive head first into this game and I am determined to figure it out. I have been curious about Rimworld for a while now but what always scared me away was how complex I heard it can be. I want to challenge myself to find fun in "losing" and figure out this game. I just got the base game since I've heard that has enough complexities without the DLCs and just want to get my feet wet and see how I like the game.

I have been wanting to play Grounded for a while now as I have several people in my life that really enjoy this game. One thing I struggle with in games is being okay with struggling. Survival games is one of those genres that I struggle with a lot and I just want to try my hand at some of these games to get better. I always enjoy the process of achievement hunting but this is one of those games I will have to ignore the achievements so I can take things as slow as I need. Slow and steady wins the race in this scenario.

Management games have been another genre that I struggle with because I could never seem to get a grasp of them. Two Point Museum caught my attention with its art and the whimsical direction the game has. I started the game closer to its release and played for a bit before I stopped because things weren't going well with my museums. I started again a few weeks before the Summer Sale and I just got hooked. I had a much better understanding of the mechanics and was able to work through the campaign much faster. I decided to get the last two DLCs they had released so I can complete the full campaign as well as get all the achievements. As of July 1st when I'm writing this I have half the achievements done and still having an amazing time with this game.

The first Slime Rancher game was my first survival game that I was able to complete on my own without needing to look much up. After completing it I consider it very light in the survival crafting aspects of the game but it was perfect for what I was comfortable with. I saw the second game come up on my reccomended and just wanted to get it this sale. I'm excited to see what's new in the second game.

I actually do not know anything about this game other than it fits with in that visual novel genre. My boyfriend thought this game would be one that I enjoy so I picked it up. He's picked out a few games for me that I have enjoyed so I expect to have a good time with this game.

As I mentioned earlier, I really enjoying getting all the achievements in games when I can. Cookie Clicker is a beast of a game to go for all the achievements. The one reason I got this to start now is because I wanted to see if I could pass a friend in the amount of achievements he has in this game even tho he has had the game for much longer than I have. Zach if you read this, yes I absolutely am going after achievements you don't have.

I have the first game in this series and I have yet to complete it all but man I wanted that Adventure Time DLC. I took a break from the first game because it is a lot of the same thing but I'm ready to start it up again but I'm going to start with the 2nd game just for the Adventure Time DLC.

This year I decided that I wanted to go through the Final Fantasy games, at least the pixel games, and I finished the first one back in March. I try not to play sequels back to back so I took a break and decided to pick up the second one to start after I finish my current Steam Deck game, Citizen Sleeper 2.

After being so hooked to Two Point Museum I decided to go find another management game that I can try my hand at. Parkasaurus is the one I landed on after seeing it one of Easily Distracted Games round up video. It looks just as whimsical as Two Point Museum but with living dinosaurs. My other choice was Jurassic World Evolution since I love the movie franchise but I wanted a game that didn't seem as complex because I don't think I'm ready for that yet.

This was kind of an impulse buy for me. I saw it as I was scrolling the sale pages and instantly remembered my time playing this game on my iPhone 4. I actually already completed it at the time that I'm writing this. The game was just as I remembered it all those years ago. Nothing too crazy but it was fun playing it again. Only thing annoying was not having a good way to check off the possible combinations for the God of Patience achievement. I had to redo all the combinations a few times before I found what I was missing. Now that's only a problem if you are going for all the achievements like me.
