26 Games for 2026 Backloggd Challenge
At the end of 2025 Backloggd posted a challenge to get players to expand their gaming horizons. Which is exactly why I wanted to start this. I still consider myself a new gamer and I want to get myself to play games that are different alongside the most popular titles.

How is it going?
As of wiring this, it is a little over the half way mark in July and I have played 20 out of the 26 games from my list. Out of those 20, I completed 11 of those games with 8 of them having played to 100% achievement completion.
Citizen Sleeper 2 - Rolled Credits, working on achievements still.
1000XResist - 100% Completion (Loved this game so much I got a tattoo).
Disco Elysium - Dropped after I couldn't click with it.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 - Played for a few hours, just not my thing.
UFO 50 - I have played a few of the games, still go back to try out new games.
Dungeons and Degenerate Gamblers - Played for a few hours but, I enjoy Balatro more.
Unpacking - 100% Completion.
Titanfall 2 - Rolled credits and tried to get all the achievements but was pulling my hair out for Becomes the Master.
Let's Build a Zoo - Played for a good bit before I felt like I wanted to move on.
Little Inferno - 100% Completion.
Footsies - Played for a few hours, had fun with it but wasn't my favorite.
Final Fantasy I - 100% Completion.
Brotato - I have played this game a lot and slowly getting achievements.
Coffee Talk - 100% completion.
Unbeatable - I started the game and really enjoy it but got swept up by other games so I put it down for now.
Game with Balls - 100% Completion.
and Roger - 100% Completion.
Firewatch - 100% Completion.
Halo Wars - Playing level by level slowly with my boyfriend.
Despelote - 100% Completion.
I am honestly impressed with how much I have been able to play in the first half of the year. I don't exactly want to force myself to stick to this list exclusively because I don't want gaming to feel like I am finishing a chore list. When I am ready for a new game I first always look at this list to see if I am in the mood to try any of these games. It wasn't really until June/July where none of the games on the list jumped out as something I wanted to play so I really have slowed down chipping away at the list.
What do I think about the Challenge
I think this challenge has been really helpful to get me to play games outside of what I knew I enjoyed such as typical linear story based adventure games. I have really fallen in love with visual novels and I play them exclusively on my Steam Deck to wind down with before bed. Playing Let's Build A Zoo really got me into a management game kick and I have been enjoying the heck out of Two Point Museum as a result. I don't think I would have given Final Fantasy a go if it was not for this challenge and that was a game I really, really enjoyed and I am continuing the series because of that.
I still feel as if I am really new to gaming so this really has helped introduce me to different types of games and I have found some top 10 games in result. I would recommend you guys do the same, pick some of the challenges and try a game that you would normally pass on. You never know when you will find a new favorite game.
If you would like to follow me as I play the games, I try and update my Backloggd profile as frequently as possible: https://backloggd.com/u/twolives/
